Jude Cockburn has been passionate about Homeopathy since she first encountered it in England over 16 years ago, when she attended a course to learn more about this alternative form of medicine. Jude moved to Canada in 2003 and studied homoeopathy with the Canadian College of Homoeopathic Medicine and is a classically trained homoeopath, which is sometimes referred to as Hahnemannian.
Jude believes that homoeopathy is a true medicinal science and art, and she creates an environment whereby a patient is listened to and encouraged to explore emotions, perceptions and all aspects of themselves, before prescribing a remedy which will enable the body to return to a state of balance and well being.
Homoeopathy is an individualised form of treatment, which looks at the person as a whole entity – mind, body and soul. It is a natural system of medicine that uses highly diluted doses of substances to stimulate the body’s own healing mechanism to promote health.
The use of homoeopathic medicines - commonly known as remedies – is based on the discovery that natural substances are capable of curing the same symptoms that they cause. By studying the pattern of symptoms that develop when a healthy person tests (‘proves’ in homoeopathic language) the remedy, homoeopaths can determine which symptoms the remedy is capable of curing.
In the words of Samuel Hahnemann:
“The physician’s highest and only calling is to make the sick healthy. To cure as it is a called. The highest ideal of cure is the rapid, gentle and permanent restoration of health”
